The meaning behind Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's daughter's name revealed

Kim Kardashian

Chicago - where Kanye West was raised - is the name of baby No. 3 with Kim Kardashian West.

Celebrity website TMZ said the couple chose a surrogate after Kardashian suffered from a serious condition in which the placenta becomes too deeply attached to the wall of the uterus during her second pregnancy, making a third pregnancy too risky. She joins big brother Saint West, 2, and big sister North West, 4.

While the youngest West nickname has sparked the usual online attention, many have tweeted approval of the name, including the city of Chicago, the Chicago Bears and the owner of the "Chicago West" Twitter handle of course.

The identity of Kimye's surrogate has been kept private, though reports claim she was being "pampered" by the couple as she carried their bundle of joy.

So she and Kanye set out to find a "gestational carrier". "But if Kylie is pregnant, I don't know, I think she'll do something weird". Since we implanted my fertilized egg in our gestational carrier, our baby is biologically mine and Kanye's.

After revealing her happy news in December, Khloe has explained even her sisters didn't know about the pregnancy initially.

"After exploring many options, Kanye and I made a decision to use a gestational carrier", she continued.

We had to wait quite a fews days to find out the name of Kim Kardashian's third child. This sparked the thought of considering the numeral symbol of V. The name could also be a tribute to outgoing Louis Vuitton designer Kim Jones who had her last show in Paris.
