Samsung Galaxy S9 said to offer dual speakers and Animoji-like feature

Dual camera setup on the Note 8 is very similar to the iPhone X

Samsung Galaxy S9's 3D emoji will mimic Apple's Animoji. The iPhone X is the only smartphone out there to feature a sophisticated 3D facial recognition system, which Android makers will now try their best to copy.

The ETNews report said that the overall design was basically the same as the S8, the corners of the S9 are a little more gradual and the phone was a little thinner overall.

It's an interesting claim, because it sounds like Samsung's animated emoji will have a lot in common with Animoji.

While all Galaxy flagships have packed impressive specifications for their time, however, none of them ever featured stereo speakers.

Samsung is sending out invites for its Unpacked 2018 event, which will take place on February 25 in Barcelona, Spain. The feature won't appear on the upcoming Galaxy S9 either.

In total, Samsung phones running Experience 9.0 are also getting 239 brand new emoji, featuring those rolled out last March in Unicode 5.0.

The patent, which has been titled as "Electronic apparatus employing full front screen" has also revealed the presence of a new pressure sensor just under the display on the front side of the phone. Facial expressions were one of Samsung's biggest issues with emoji, as some like the "grimacing face" looked nothing like the same emoji from the likes of Google, Apple, and others. We have already seen this feature, referred to as Animoji on the Apple iPhone X. Previous reports have claimed that the Galaxy S9 would include dual Dolby surround speakers tuned by AKG whose parent company Harman/Kardon was bought by Samsung past year. Samsung - and all the other manufacturers, actually - were beaten to the punch by Chinese manufacturer Vivo, placing an optical sensor on the Vivo X20 Plus UD, but it seems that there will be no reply from Samsung this year.

One major way Samsung is improving its emoji library, aside from the much-needed redesigns, has come from changing to align more closely with the competition.
