Steam's Lunar New Year sale is supposed to kick off today

The latest software update for Steam has added more sorting and filtering options to the Steam Wishlist.

Even if you don't feel like loading up on cheap Steam games right now, it's worth popping over to the Lunar New Year Sale to see some cute dogs. Valve has introduced new filters to look at certain types of content (such as games vs. DLC), support for specific operating systems, VR-only games, items under certain price thresholds ($5 or $10), and those that are on sale. Is there anything you are hoping to grab in the Steam sale today? Now you can sort your wishlist by genre, tag, price, and whether it's on sale or not. Clicking any of those tags will filter your Wishlist to just other titles with that same tag applied. Now your Wishlist will reflect if a game is currently in Early Access, and we've added a filter option to hide those games until they have transitioned from Early Access to full release. All games on the Wishlist now have their release date included in the info box, too, which should be helpful when you're tracking the progress of a game currently in development.

The combination of filters and sort-orders users pick will also automatically save and apply next time the Wishlist is accessed. However, this is only available for games with only a single purchase option-those with multiple editions will require you to go to the store page, so as to save you from purchasing a version that isn't exactly what you're looking for. Instead of an "Add to Cart" link, you'll see a "View Details" button.

Also, games can now be added to the cart straight from the Wishlist without needing to visit their store pages.

As always, we'd like to hear what you think about these changes, and whether there are more wishlist features you'd like to see.
