Jimmy Butler suffers right knee injury, MRI scheduled Saturday

An All-Star, Butler is averaging 22.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in his first season with the Wolves.

Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star guard Jimmy Butler injured his right knee and had to be carried off the court during a game against the Houston Rockets on Friday. With the win, Minnesota improved to 36-25 overall and 24-7 at home.

Despite forcing just four turnovers and attempting 10 fewer field goals that the Timberwolves, the Rockets led 55-54 at the break when Harden helped spearhead a 9-2 run to close the half.

Butler sustained the injury in the third quarter on a non-contact play after grabbing a rebound on his own missed shot.

James Harden led the team with 28 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, Chris Paul added 19 points with seven assists while Clint Capela chipped in with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Timberwolves now hold the fourth seed in the Western Conference at 36-26.

Head to head, the over is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings, the Timberwolves are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Houston.

Injuries have plagued the league this season taking players down from the very first game with the gruesome leg injury to Gordon Hayward, which was the first domino in what seems like an avalanche of bad injuries.
