Veteran Actress Sridevi Dies At 54 After Suffering Cardiac Arrest

Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood actor Sridevi passed away after a massive cardiac arrest on Saturday night.

The Indian Express confirmed news of her death after speaking to her brother-in-law Sanjay Kapoor.

The 54-year-old actor was in UAE to attend a marriage ceremony with family when she suffered the attack. I was in Dubai and now I am flying back to Dubai.

Bollywood fraternity reacted with shock on hearing the news of her death. "I don't know more details yet".

Sridevi is survived by her two daughters and her husband. From 1976 to 1982 she succeeded in South films while she moved to Bollywood in 1983 only to be regarded as First Superstar of Bollywood later.

The Padma Shri awardee actress had also made a mark with her stellar performances in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada films. Even as she picked up award after award and won fans across the world, her personal life was mired in controversy. The actress was last seen in movie Mom.

She was Boney Kapoor's second wife.
