2 dead, several injured in West Bank auto ramming

A Palestinian purposely rammed his vehicle into a group of Israeli soldiers in the West Bank on Friday, the military said, and Israeli media reported two of the soldiers were killed and two others wounded.

It said the driver was injured and hospitalized for treatment.

The driver, who fled from the scene, was captured by Israeli security forces shortly after the attack and was lightly injured, he was evacuated to the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera.

This could amount to the cancellation of 67 work and 26 commerce permits.

"There is no such thing as individual terrorism; this terrorism is supported by Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority which provides money to the families of terrorists".

The incident came as Palestinians protested across the West Bank and the Gaza border marking 100 days since U.S. President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Hamas praised the attack but did not claim responsibility for it.

The rallies saw at least three Palestinians and two Israeli soldiers suffer injuries.

The settlements are considered illegal under global law, though Israel disputes this.

Israel seized Jordan-controlled East Jerusalem during the 1967 Six-Day War.

Last Saturday, a Palestinian man died in clashes with settlers in the West Bank.

According to AFP, since President Trump's declaration, more than 30 Palestinians and four Israelis have been killed in violence.

Many Palestinians, owing to Israel's security restrictions, are banned from entering Jerusalem.
