YouTube Plans To "Frustrate And Seduce" Users To Pay For A Subscription

New comments from YouTube's head of music today detail how it plans to attract those who already use the video site as a music streaming service, for example by offering exclusive content.

It's part of an effort to "be good partners" with the music industry, Cohen said.

In a bid to lure users away from broadcasting services like Twitch, YouTube has finally launched a feature that lets users livestream from directly within the Chrome browser. Spike's Tactical, as well as an array of gun vloggers and manufacturers far and wide, are forever barred from posting more content on the site: "Please be aware that you are prohibited from accessing, possessing or creating any other YouTube accounts".

Full quote: "There's a lot more people in our funnel that we can frustrate and seduce to become subscribers". Spike's Tactical, which says it sells "the finest AR-15s on the planet", has been a high-profile casualty of YouTube's new restrictions, as it revealed in a recent Facebook post of its own.

This is significant expansion, in terms of reaching potential YouTube advertisers who would have otherwise not had the resources to write, film and edit a professional ad for YouTube.

The music industry is hoping YouTube will invest enough to compete with Spotify and Apple Music. So, to convert users, Cohen shared YouTube's new strategy.

"They will appreciate in time the advertising".

According to Cohen, the particular audience that will see more ads are users who passively listen to music for long periods of time. "Everyone is drunk on the growth of subscription". "Yet, frustrating current YouTube users with ads might not entice them to subscribe".

YouTube has a serious problem: videos posted on the platform sometimes make it to the top trending list, even though the videos themselves are filled with false information. In addition, YouTube reaches a younger demographic, so small businesses should keep in mind that they may need other ways to reach to those over the age of 35, for example.
