Winning $521M Mega Millions ticket sold in New Jersey

The jackpot for the Mega Millions lottery climbed to $521 million, but no victor was immediately announced early on Saturday for a pot that surpassed the half-billion-dollar mark for the fourth time in the game's history, the lottery said. The March 30 prize is the fourth-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history.

The largest prize in game history was recorded in 2012 when the jackpot reached $656 million.

The numbers drawn Friday were 11, 28, 31, 46, 59 and the Mega number was 1. Two other tickets, sold in OH and Texas, matched all the white balls to win $1 million each, NJ.com reported.

Also Friday night, two tickets, sold in OH and Texas, matched the five white balls to win $1 million each.

The drawing was the 24th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

According to CNN Money, the odds of winning the Powerball are one in 292.2 million while the odds for Mega Millions are slightly tougher at one in 302.6 million.

Lines at convenience stores were several deep throughout Friday, as people got their hands on Mega Millions tickets.

It's the nation's 10th-largest lottery jackpot. Mega Millions can be played in 44 states, the District of Columbia and the U. S. Virgin Islands, with drawings held every Tuesday and Friday night. $648 million, Mega Millions, Dec. 17, 2013 (two tickets, from California and Georgia) 5.

The lump sum for the Mega Millions is estimated at $301 million.
