Steve Kerr slams Warriors for their blowout loss vs Pacers

Paul George says the Thunder have'to do a better job of helping Russ

The Warriors who visited Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Thursday needed no sarcastic quote marks around their name. Golden State wound up 13-2.

The reigning National Basketball Association champions (57-22) suffered their eighth loss in 14 games after losing 126-106 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse despite having the likes of Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant at their disposal. They were the ones to set the tone and dictate the pace, something preached by Coach of the Year candidate Nate McMillan beforehand.

"I think people are starting to take notice, but we still ain't got nobody's respect yet", said Turner. "I thought our guys responded well to the challenge".

At that point, Warriors coach Steve Kerr conceded, pulling his starters. I'm embarrassed. I know this game doesn't mean anything in the seeding, but the playoffs start next week. "It was an embarrassing effort, a pathetic effort".

The Warriors' effort and performance said otherwise.

Bojan Bogdanovic scored 28 points on a almost flawless shooting night, Victor Oladipo added 21 and the Pacers pulled away from the short-handed defending champions for a 126-106 blowout - and their first season sweep of the Warriors since 2011-12. Victor Oladipo added 21, including 14 in the second half.

Indiana's offense was impressive throughout. Golden State shot just 31 percent from three-point range while allowing the Pacers to shoot 53.8 percent from the field and make 15 threes. The Pacers held the potent Warriors to 44.6 percent shooting. The 32 assists have only been matched once for the Pacers in the last three months. "Last few games, we cared".

Oladipo was happy with the win but said the team has higher goals. Bogdanovic's layup gave IN a 52-42 lead with 4:25 left, and after building a 62-51 halftime lead, IN extended the margin to 22 during the third.

Kevin Durant led the Warriors, who had won their previous three games, with 27 points.

Golden State led 107-103 when a steal by Westbrook led to a dunk by Corey Brewer with 20 seconds left. The Warriors turned the ball over 16 times and were outrebounded by eight.

Instrumental to the Pacers' scoring success was Bogdanovic, who has diversified his offensive game. Westbrook scored 18 in the first half to help the Thunder stay in the game.

Allen Crabbe scored 25 points and hit two 3-pointers in the closing minutes of a tight game, and Brooklyn shot 48 percent from behind the arc to beat Milwaukee.

As for the Warriors, games like this one are typical when Kevin Durant is your main man. "We just have to continue to get better". It took us awhile to ramp the aggressiveness up. The 17-1 run swamped Golden State and put the Pacers on easy street.

From a regular season standpoint, the Golden State Warriors will fall short of expectations.
