Prince Charles and Camilla's Royal tour of Australia

Prince Charles declared the Games officially open on behalf of his mother Queen Elizabeth II and shook hands with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull

Prince Charles was apparently shocked and appaled by the question, replying "Oh, DON'T believe all that CRAP".

"Old school pals catching up from #timbertop", Ms Ryan wrote on Instagram.

Ms Ryan told the publication that Prince Charles did not recognise her father but they reminisced about the school and said her father was "stoked" about their interaction. "I look forward to seeing him again", Turnbull added.

Upon arrival, the couple was greeted in Brisbane by Governor-General Peter Cosgrove with a 21-gun salute.

The eyebrow-raising claims made headlines worldwide - and with Charles and wife Camilla in Australia to open the Commonwealth Games, Hit105 reporter Jase, from Stav, Abby and Matt's breakfast radio show, chose to go straight to the source to find out the truth.

Jane - the oldest of the siblings - was 10 when Charles would visit. "It's one hell of a journey for a very short space of time but the Duchess loves Australia and the people so she is really looking forward to it, even though she doesn't relish the flying".

But rather than going for a dip in the still-balmy autumn weather, they'll attend Kurrawa Surf Lifesaving Club for a plaque unveiling and a nippers display.

Charles and Camilla are also both scheduled to hand out medals for the swimming and cycling respectively.

Prince Charles, left and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, center, arrive with Aboriginal Elder Ted Williams during the opening ceremony for the 2018 Commonwealth Games at Carrara Stadium on the Gold Coast, Australia, Wednesday, April 4, 2018.

Prince Charles dropped a rare expletive during an interview with an Australian radio personality.
