Google has provided information related to new design and possible features to its G Suite administrators recently. It seems that not only the design will change as Gmail is set to bring in a very important surprising new feature which was added by Google, and it was discovered shortly before the official release.
According to a new report from The Verge, Google will also be introducing a new "Confidential Mode", which lets users stop recipients from forwarding certain emails. Yesterday, the redesign leaked early giving us an early look at what's in store for users.
Will my emails self-destruct?
How do you control when recipients' emails self-destruct?
The addition of Confidential Mode will grant users greater control over the emails they send, giving them the option of adding password protection to a message so they can not be opened by unauthorized people. As per some screenshots, users will be able to set an expiration date so that the sent email disappears or is unreadable after a week or several years depending on what they choose. Among the more intriguing-sounding innovations: a "Confidential Mode" that keeps email protected by not allowing the recipient to forward it, cut and paste from it, print from it, or download it, per TechCrunch-though more than one source points out there's nothing stopping someone from simply taking a picture of the email, either via a computer screenshot or with a camera. "You can also ask your recipient to confirm their identity with a passcode sent via text message". More news: Modi dubs tomorrow's fast as protest against those who 'killed democracy'A U.K. High Court judge did not agree and ruled Google had to erase search results pertaining to the man's prosecution and conviction for conspiracy to carry out surveilance, noting that he had expressed remorse for his actions, served his time, and that the record had little relevance to his current business dealings, The Telegraph reported.
We're working on some major updates to Gmail (they're still in draft phase).
So, no flames. No need to panic.
