Ex-CBS TV anchor Charlie Rose hit with sexual harassment lawsuit

Charlie Rose Sued by 3 CBS Staffers for Sexual Harassment

Three former junior female colleagues sued disgraced television anchor Charlie Rose and CBS News on Friday for discrimination, harassment and retaliation, seeking unspecified damages in NY. In the suit, 2 of the women - Katherine Brooks Harris and Sydney McNeal, his assistant - say Rose told them they were hired specifically because he likes tall women.

Charlie Rose was sacked after eight women leveled sexual harassment accusations against him.

In response, the Post wrote, CBS News said in a statement that it had worked to strengthen protections for employees in the wake of the Rose scandal but could not "corroborate or confirm numerous situations described" in the new report. A new investigation by The Washington Post brought to the public's attention an additional 27 women, who say Rose behaved improperly towards them.

The suit also accuses Mr. Kadro of harassment, saying that at one point a year ago he "kicked and shoved Ms. Wei's chair with substantial force, startling, intimidating and scaring Ms. Wei".

According to the suit, Rose would berate and intimidate them.

CBS claims it knew nothing about any allegations concerning Mr.

The lawsuit alleges that Rose made sexually explicit comments and engaged in sexual contact with three employees. Rose and the network didn't do anything to deal with the problem.

But, according to the complaint, the defendants "unlawfully failed and refused to take any remedial action and allowed Mr".

The allegations include details of comments Rose made about their intelligence and their ethnicity.

During lunches with Harris, Rose would place "his hands on her thigh and [kiss] her cheek", the lawsuit alleges.

Harris claims she was wined and dined by Rose while working as a broadcast associate for one of the CBS morning shows, discussing potential job opportunities for Harris at "60 Minutes" or on Rose's eponymous show. The lawsuit also accuses CBS executives of failing to warn the employees about Rose's history of sexual misconduct. The suit also states that Rose referred to Wei as "China doll", caressed her arms, and whispered in her ear "Happy birthday, dear". She complained to the show's top producer, Chris Licht, but asked him not to tell human resources about it. Licht told the newspaper he followed her wishes and also talked to Rose about the incident. She is now on medical leave, according to the suit.

The Post has since reported that a total 35 women have come forward with allegations against Rose, whom one former intern reportedly said "falls toward the worst end of the spectrum" of sexual harassment.

CBS News did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"CBS was fully aware of".
