Iran nuke deal: Johnson tells Trump 'don't walk away'

Boris Johnson heads to Washington in bid to save Iran nuke deal

DUBAI: is determined to reject demands by US President for changes to its nuclear accord, which amount to bullying, a senior Iranian security official said on Saturday.

Regardless of where they are headquartered, virtually all multinational corporations do business or banking in the United States, meaning any return to pre-deal sanctions could torpedo deals made after the 2015 agreement came into force.

To those arguing that the documents did not prove any Iranian violation of the accord since it came into effect in 2016, Netanyahu said that was missing the point. Even some of Trump's supporters in his own party are warning that it may be counter-productive to leave the deal.

Netanyahu was a vocal opponent of the deal when it was reached during the Obama administration. The first item he doesn't like about the deal is the sunset clauses that put time limits on some restrictions like those placed on centrifuges and research.

Unfortunately, Trump thinks nothing of alienating Macron, Merkel, and a host of other leading figures with the aim of getting his way with the JCPOA. I was opposed to the Iran deal.

Israel's prime minister on Sunday stepped up his calls for Trump to withdraw from the agreement.

Trump has expressed contempt for the 2015 nuclear accord that offers Iran sanctions relief in return for halting its nuclear weapons program, signaling that he's not inclined to extend waivers that allow Iran to export oil to some of its biggest customers. Netanyahu stated the "half a whole lot" of files were transferred to some "very secret" place from the capital of Iran. The official, speaking on condition of anonymity under briefing guidelines, said the volume of information showed the program was more "comprehensive and robust" than previously thought.

"Face the Nation" moderator Margaret Brennan reports the USA and its European allies would create a proposal that addresses Mr. Trump's concerns about the agreement - ballistic missiles, military site inspections and the sunset clause - thus allowing Mr. Trump to claim he "fixed" the 2015 worldwide agreement without actually altering a word of the agreement and without Iran's consent. What happens after the US pulls out?

Netanyahu on Sunday disputed arguments that the intelligence trove he unveiled contained no new details.

Iran also could respond by ending or limiting the inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency of its nuclear facilities.

James Carafano, a defense policy expert at the Heritage Foundation who worked on the Trump transition explained, "The president laid out some pretty clear stakes in ground for what he wanted from the Europeans". Walking away, he added, could have hard-to-predict consequences.

This statement was made amid tensions between Jerusalem and Tehran over the Islamic Republic's attempts to expand its influence in neighboring Syria. Israel has neither confirmed nor denied involvement.

Oil cartel Opec has slashed production to lift crude prices but higher prices allow shale drillers in the USA to return to production, which could knock the fragile balance of the oil market and reduce Opec's market share. He accused Iran supplying advanced weapons to the Syrian government.

"The last thing you can say about it is that it blocks all of Iran's paths to the bomb. Better now than later", he said. "This time, once again, it is also making a mistake".
