'Brainstorm and Green needle' is the new 'Yanny and Laurel'

Trump hears ‘covfefe’ as White House aides weigh in on 'Yanny' and 'Laurel'

Vice President Mike Pence even made an appearance in the clip, simply asking 'Who's Yanny?'

Principal Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah and presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway concur, Conway adding that she "could deflect and divert to Yanny if you need me to".

We get that it's a joke, but come on, White House.

While most people who listen to the "Laurel or Yanny" audio will only hear one of the words, people are hearing both on the "brainstorm or green needle" test.

Ivanka Trump is the first to weigh in, claiming it's "so clearly Laurel", before giggling for the camera.

Mr Trump alluded to his viral tweet past year that ended in the world "covfefe", before it was deleted.

But the internet did not rest on its yannys (or laurels. depending.) when it comes to media which plays tricks on the mind.

Intrigued, Szabo sent it to a friend who posted the clip on Instagram and created a poll that quickly went viral, triggering a mass debate that has spread internationally. The lowest of the three frequencies is absolutely essential for the L's and R's - the consonants that make up Laurel.

"When there is more energy towards the mid and higher frequencies, people tend to hear "Yanny".

The audio very clearly said "yanny".

"There really isn't a true reality, there is only our perceptual reality", Crum said.

What do you hear?!
