Roseanne says she was 'Ambien tweeting' when racist comment was made

Drugmaker to Roseanne Barr: ‘Racism is not a known side effect’ of Ambien

Barr later wrote that "i blamed myself. not ambien". She and her husband Michael Parham, a longtime supporter of former President Obama, have worked with Jarrett in the past and consider her a friend. Streaming service Hulu and other cable networks have removed Roseanne reruns, and Barr was also dropped by her talent agency.

"It's not about political correctness, it's racism", responded Fox News' Jessica Tarlov.

More: What happens to "Roseanne"? "It is extremely offensive but it is just that".

Kelly Norman Ellis says she is teaching her students about the painful, historical context.

"She is a comedian", Nikpour agreed. "She knows he's an asshole". "Oh and at the same time hiring a scum of a human in Keith Olbermann".

The former TV honcho said he did not recall the volatile star exhibiting racist behavior. "Double Standard!" he added. "Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste".

Kim hosted a local roundtable with Jarrett and Seattle Asian American Pacific Islander community leaders in 2013.

"I'm a black man and I stand with @therealroseanne!" tweeted conservative commentator Oliver McGee.

She wrote: "thanks for all your kind comments, everyone!" Taking to Twitter, Trump wanted to know why the U.S. network said sorry to Jarrett, but not to him for statements that were made on the network about him.

'They can do this because we have a white trash racist president.

"Roseanne is an outcast now", said Pizzagate conspiracy theorist Mike Cernovich. She also lashed out at co-stars, saying they threw her under the bus. Though Barr quickly apologized for a joke that "was in bad taste", ABC released a terse statement from entertainment president Channing Dungey, which said: "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have made a decision to cancel her show".

ABC doing "the right thing" by canceling "Roseanne" raises the question of why NBC didn't do "the right thing by removing Trump from "The Apprentice" when he was pushing his racist 'birtherism" claims against President Obama?

President Donald Trump on Wednesday tangentially weighed in on the issue via Twitter, asking why ABC had issued a mea culpa to Jarrett over Barr's comments when the network has never called the president to apologize for ostensibly harsh coverage. They included one post that juxtaposed an image of Jarrett with an image of a "Planet of the Apes" actor - a comparison that led to her firing. "Come on. Wrong is wrong", she said.

But Trump didn't say anything about that. "Here's the thing, we know we can't get away with what the Left can". Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger, saying the company's ABC network never apologized for "horrible statements" said about the president on air.
