You can choose your gender in Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey leaks: is this the sequel to Origins?

French gaming site JeuxVideo added weight to that story today, and also a possible title, with an image of an Assassin's Creed: Odyssey "collectible helmet keychain".

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is rumoured to be the name of the next Assassin's Creed game, and it's once again reportedly set in Greece.

And if that dude getting kicked off cliff seems recognisable, it is because it is basically just that bit from 300. In the meantime, Ubisoft fans wanting a little more time with the franchise have a couple Assassin's Creed: Origins DLCs to play, as well as a New Game Plus mode.

Beyond the tweet, information about the title's gameplay mechanics, storyline, and protagonist is scarce. Perhaps they've figured out how to keep iterating on the formula year on year, but we'll have to wait and see how drastic the changes are at E3.

The Assassin's Creed series used to be on an annualized release schedule, but Ubisoft took a year off after October 2015's Assassin's Creed Syndicate before launching Assassin's Creed Origins in October 2017.

The game is slated to release sometime during Ubisoft's 2019 fiscal year.

In the picture below, you can see this collectible gift is labelled - Assassin's Creed Odyssey. With The Division 2 taking up space in March, it would be safe to assume that Odyssey is targeting a fall 2018 launch, which would put Ubisoft right back on track with their yearly releases for the series.

It's worth a read, even if you should take all of that with a grain of salt.

Stay tuned for more as it develops.
