Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner commercial income revealed

Ivanka Trump Jared Kushner Made Over $80 Million In 2017 Outside White House Roles Show Filings

President Donald Trump's daughter and son in law made at least $82 million in outside income while serving as senior White House advisers previous year thanks to investment deals from companies they had previously led, news reports said Monday.

Senior adviser and daughter Ivanka Trump (L), and senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner (R) attend a summit at the East Room of the White House May 18, 2018 in Washington, DC.

Monday's disclosures show that Jared Kusher holds assets worth at least $181 million, compared to at least $140 million disclosed in the spring of 2017.

The Post estimated Kushner's assets at United States dollars 179 million to USD 735 million a year ago, compared to between USD 55.3 million and USD 75.6 million for Trump, noting that the Office of Government Ethics uses broad ranges for assets and liabilities. The White House had released the president's own financial report last month.

Kushner's disclosure also showed that he has assumed growing debt over the past year, both expanding his use of revolving lines of credit and taking on additional debt of between US$5 million ($6.6m) and US$25 million ($33.01m) as part of his family company's purchase last year of a New Jersey apartment complex.

In 2017, Trump's assets were estimated to be valued between $55.3 million and $75.6 million and Kushner's between $179 million and $735 million, reported the Washington Post.

Penguin Random House also gave Ivanka an advance payment of $289,000 for her book, which she donated to charity.

Jared Kushner's filings reveal a sprawling real estate empire, with property in states including New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Illinois, Ohio and CT generating millions in rent. That income included $US3.9 million from the Trump International Hotel located in Washington and $US2 million in salary and severance from the Trump Organisation.

The news sources didn't list all the sources of income for the power couple, but just cited a few examples from financial disclosure forms obtained by the newspaper.

In addition to earning tens of millions past year, the Trump-Kushner power couple have taken on significant debt, apparently mostly due to real estate purchases.

Despite public scrutiny of their finances amid questions of conflicts of interest, a spokesman for the couple's lawyer said Trump and Kushner have followed the rules.

Peter Mirijanian, a spokesperson for the couple's attorney Abbe Lowell, told the Washington Post that Kushner and Trump's net worth has not substantially changed during their time at the White House and confirmed that they have both complied with all the ethical rules.
