"It's really breathtaking", said Michael J. Green, senior vice president for Asia and Japan chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

"Featuring President Donald Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un, in a meeting to remake history, to shine in the sun", the narrator says.

I don't trust Kim Jong-un, we don't trust North Korean people.

'We don't know what type of person the North Korean leader is negotiating with.

Sherman dismissed the Singapore summit, joking that the two leaders will become part of "The Celebrity Apprentice", which Trump used to host before becoming president.

The meeting was a historic occasion as it marked the first time a North Korean leader had ever met with a sitting United States president.

Tuesday's unprecedented encounter in Singapore saw the leader of the world's most powerful democracy shake hands with Kim Jong Un. Trump showed the video, which was made by the National Security Council, publicly during a news conference with reporters on Tuesday.

"When I watch some of those things, I'm kind of embarrassed for those people, as great things are going on", Melissa Francis, the co-host of "Outnumbered", said after the program aired a reel of journalists criticizing Trump's praise of Kim and the president's slapdash approach to the summit.

It was, for example, Trump's pressuring and charming of Kim Jong-un that got him to the Singapore summit to discuss denuclearization.

Melissa Hanham of the US-based Center for Nonproliferation Studies said on Twitter that North Korea had "already promised to do this many times", adding the two sides "still don't agree on what "denuclearization" means".

"If you look at just the North Korean reports from today it seems this week's summit existed to create a new peace regime on the Korean peninsula and a new relationship with the United States".

The South Korean president's office said there were no immediate plans for three-way talks between the Koreas and the USA to sign a peace treaty to formally end the Korean War.

News of the decision to halt the drills stoked concern in Japan, with Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera calling joint exercises and the USA military presence in South Korea "vital" to East Asian security.

"For North Korea, they got exactly what they wanted", Moon Seong-mook, a former South Korean military official and current head of the Unification Strategy Center in Seoul.

A bonus for Singapore summit is that direct relations between North Korea and the U.S. would dampen China's influence somewhat, though not completely.
