Prince Harry and Meghan join the queen at first Royal Ascot together

Meghan Markle news Meghan and Harry

Ms Dempsey added: "He's lovely, it's a great thing he is coming to Dublin, I think there will be a big turn-out for him and Meghan".

Meghan Markle wore a remarkably loose-fitting dress to a wedding over the weekend, sparking rumors that she's pregnant with her first child with Prince Harry. A tonally coordinated box clutch and sensible heels were a nice complement to the crowning accessory: a Philip Treacy hat.

Royal Ascot is as much a social and fashion occasion as a major sporting event and the female racegoers had gone out of their way to impress on the first day of the event.

The Queen's decision to invite her grandson and his new wife was another signal that Meghan is well and truly part of the royal family.

The couple will present the winning trophy for the 4.20pm race, the St James' Palace Stakes, said the official Royal Ascot programme.

Of course, nothing quite that casual would do for Royal Ascot, which has its own dress code that covers everything from the minimal hat circumference to the preferred width of dress straps to a ban on fascinators all together.

Markle opted for an understated white silk belted silk dress by Givenchy, her favourite go-to designer.

The Royal Ascot is one of the most sought-after events for horseracing enthusiasts and fashionistas alike.

"They are looking forward to learning more about Ireland's history and experiencing its rich culture, as well as meeting the people who are shaping the country's future, "the Palace tweeted".

Although the newlyweds, who returned from their honeymoon less than two weeks ago, were complimented for wearing coordinating blue outfits, the Duchess' look received a different reception to that in which she made her maiden solo outing with the Queen to northwest England last week.

When Meghan and Harry stepped from their carriage Edward handed his nephew a copy of the official race programme with details of all the runners and riders.

Now that the couple have got the title, they have a lot more responsibilities, with the former Suits actress reportedly signed onto six months of 'princess lessons' to flawless her royal etiquette.
