Prince Louis' christening to be held at Chapel Royal on July 9

Kate middleton news

Princess Charlotte was christened under two months after she was born - in July 2015 - and Prince George had his ceremony three months after.

She and husband Prince Harry handed a winner's trophy to Frankie Dettori.

The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Middletons will also be expected to attend Louis' big day.

Since his birth, Louis has not been seen in public although his family did issue official photographs of the new royal last month.

Prince Louis will be christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, on Monday 9 July, Kensington Palace has announced.

George was also christened in the Chapel Royal, but Charlotte was baptised at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham.

"So if you follow that model for Prince Louis' christening, I wouldn't be surprised if it was announced for the end of this month or July".

According to Fitzwilliams, Prince Harry and Markle's attendance in the event is already a representation for the royal family.

What will Prince Louis wear at his christening?

But the royal expert insisted the church where Princess Charlotte was christened is also close to the hearts of the royal couple. But two key royals weren't there for the procession: Prince William and Kate Middleton. It will be the ideal opportunity to see the Cambridges out together in public as a family-of-five for the first time.

The news was confirmed on Wednesday by Kensington Palace on Twitter, adding the christening will take place at The Chapel Royal in St James's Palace in London.
