The "Late Late Show" is airing from London this week, but Corden went up to Liverpool to take a drive with McCartney in the former Beatle's hometown.

He also tells the story about how his mom came to him in a dream after she died to say that things would be alright, and that's how the song Let It Be came about. I didn't see that one coming round the corner.

The Late Late Show host was joined by the singer as they drove past famous Beatles landmarks. "I can remember my granddad, who's a musician, and my dad sitting me down and saying, 'We're going to play you the best song you've ever heard, '" he said.

While in the house, McCartney showed Corden where he and John Lennon would rehearse and write, and recounted the moment he and Lennon finished writing "She Loves You". As he and Corden began singing the classic song, Corden got visibly emotional, tearing up as he harmonized with the music legend.

McCartney gave Corden an intimate tour of Liverpool, a.k.a. the birthplace of the Beatles, and along the way, they cruised through the Fab Four's greatest hits, including "Drive My Car", "Blackbird", and "When I'm 64". "Couldn't you sing she loves you yes, yes, yes?' And we were like, no", said McCartney. "I'll never ever forget it".

"If my granddad were here right now, he'd get an absolute kick out of this", Corden added, with tears still in his eyes.

Despite taking a ride with some of the biggest musical names on the planet including Foo Fighters and Ed Sheeran, McCartney is perhaps Corden's biggest coup to date.

"That's been one of the unusual things", McCartney, around the five-minute mark in the video up top, told Corden of the lasting impact of the Beatles' message.
