What Players Might Los Angeles Offer San Antonio For Kawhi Leonard?

Lakers Rumors: LA's Pitch to Sign Paul George Has Been Revealed

However, neither of the two has yet to make a significant step towards acquiring Leonard. That has sent L.A.'s front office into a race to find a way to work out a trade with the San Antonio Spurs for Leonard before Friday's deadline for LeBron and other players to decide whether they will opt out of their contracts for next season.

The San Antonio Spurs are receiving plenty of phone calls about the status of All-NBA forward Kawhi Leonard, who's reportedly requested to be moved elsewhere. Their relationship was never a great one, but has further splintered in recent years.

This report also coincides with the latest from Wojnarowski, Shelburne and Windhorst, as they reported that the Spurs recently "shut the door" on the Lakers in a recent negotiation.

Cleveland has also been linked to George, as well as All-Star point guard Chris Paul, although like the rest of the league, appears to be in a holding pattern until James makes his free agency decision.

The Los Angeles Lakers are trying to acquire Kawhi Leonard, and they don't want to wait much longer.

On the heels of reporting surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers and an aggressive trade pursuit of Kawhi Leonard before LeBron James acts on a player option for the 2018-19 National Basketball Association season, buzz is building that James' arrival in the nation's second-largest market could be dictated by another star (i.e. Leonard or Paul George) coming alongside him.

The Cavs, though, are still exploring options for other top-level players.

Jae Crowder #99 of the Utah Jazz tries to block Paul George #13 of the Oklahoma City Thunder during the first half of game 5 of the Western Conference playoffs at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on April 25, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Johnson said Tuesday that he saw his team's plan to attract superstar talent as "a two-summer thing", meaning this offseason and the next, telling reporters, "You have to give us time".

Meanwhile, for the Lakers, their summer dreams are being threatened.
