Capitol Police push back media from filming protest arrests

Almost 600 people were arrested at a protest organized by Women's March in Washington, D.C. Demonstrators began marching outside of the Justice Department and a Senate building Thursday to oppose migrant family separations and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.

Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, D-7th District, was arrested on Thursday during a civil disobedience action against President Trump's family separation policies.

Hundreds of women, wrapped in metallic silver blankets, referencing the duvets given to migrant children in detention centers, occupied the Senate office building in Washington DC after marching down the streets of the city chanting "Shame!"

There was no word on whether she felt outrage at the deaths of Americans at the hands of illegal immigrants - and no word on how the protesters felt about parents who illegally send their own children across the border to face many dangers alone.

The number of rallies, protests and marches planned for Saturday to protest the Trump administration's immigration policies has expanded to more than 700 nationwide, organizers said. Still other protesters wore jackets that said, "I really care".

She said in a video posted on social media that she had joined the action to protest "the inhumane and cruel "zero tolerance" policy of Donald Trump and this administration, the separation of families, the caging of children, and the imprisonment of asylum seekers".
