Puppy Saves Owner From Being Bit By Rattlesnake In Arizona

‘This is what a hero looks like’: Pet dog saves owner from being bit by rattlesnake during hike

- A golden retriever was attacked by a rattlesnake in Anthem Friday while he and his owner were hiking.

Paula Goodwin discovered that her pup, Todd, was extra special though, after he took a rattlesnake bite to the face for her while out on a walk.

Instead of Ms Godwin's legs, the venomous fangs sank into his snout. While walking down a hill, Godwin said she almost stepped on a rattlesnake.

"He for sure saved me from being bitten", Godwin said.

Todd, who is less than a year old, tackled the rattlesnake but ended up getting bitten on the nose.

The picture has been shared thousands of times on social media, garnering more than 360,000 likes and close to 73,000 retweets on just the WeRateDogs Twitter feed.

"It bit Todd quickly then started rattling", she said.

His name is Todd, but you could call him a hero, because that's exactly what his owner is doing.

"This is what a hero looks like", she wrote.

Todd is now recovering after the unsafe snake attack.

But Godwin needn't have been anxious because Todd stepped in and took a bite that was meant for her.

The Anthem, Ariz. woman closed her original Facebook post asking her followers to "please say a little prayer for my sweet hero".

"Todd wants to help more puppies that may need help".

She also thanked concerned followers, writing, "Your kindness and support is truly a blessing". "Donations are not towards Todd's bill but for those in need of help in paying unexpected vet bills".
