In celebration of Prince George turning 5 years old on July 22, Kensington Palace released a new portrait of its young royal highness.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has released an official birthday picture to mark Prince George's fifth birthday. The picture was taken in the garden at Clarence House on July 9, following the christening of his baby brother, Prince Louis.

According to the Daily Mail's Rebecca English, the Duchess was spotted dropping off her eldest child Prince George at Thomas's Battersea just one day after the birth.

His parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, his siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, his grandparents, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were in attendance among others.

Well, if reports are to be believed, that's not how Prince George marked the occasion of turning five on Sunday.

Prince George meets a bilby called George at the Bilby Enclosure, named for the prince, at Sydney's Taronga Zoo on April 20.

That appearance marked the first time the family-of-five had been seen all together.

When former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle visited England in 2016, they couldn't resist meeting George.

The whole family is said to be celebrating Prince George's fifth birthday on a private island.

The past year has been a formative one for George as the family reportedly moved back to London from their busy life at Anmer Hall, on the Queen's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, and started school.

The little prince was very interested in the tail rotor.
