Trump Attacked LeBron James' Intelligence - Dan Rather is Coming to His Defense

Donald Trump takes shot at LeBron James

The current Commander-in-Chief took the time to tweet a dissing message about NBA basketball player LeBron James, 33, and CNN journalist Don Lemon, 52, on the night of August 3 after the two had an interview in which LeBron spoke his mind about Donald.

In an interview with Mr. Lemon on CNN, Mr. James said he feels that the president is "using sports to kinda divide us".

James complained in the interview that Trump was trying to divide the country through athletics.

In behaviour that has become the normal for the 45th US President, Trump took to his personal Twitter account to post a late-night tweet bashing James.

The tweet came in response to an interview James conducted with CNN host Don Lemon, a frequent punching bag for the president.

"Going to the White House was a great honor until you showed up!" In the interview, James showcases his new school for underprivileged kids, discusses his upbringing, and touches on the current state of race in America.

Lemon responded to Trump's tweet this morning with a nod to First Lady Melania Trump's campaign against bullying.

He also said he might consider running for office if someone said to him he was the only person and that Trump would win if he didn't step up. In September 2017, he called Trump a "bum" for rescinding his invitation to the Golden State Warriors to celebrate their championship with a visit to the White House.

James had just opened a school for underprivileged children in Ohio.

Don Lemon responded by saying, "Who's the real dummy?" By the way, all-around he's better than Michael Jordan. A man who puts kids in classrooms or one who puts kids in cages?

Trump may have even been among the first to label LeBron James a "clutch performer", amid criticism the former Cav was prone to passing up game winning shots. "I believe there's someone else out there".

The reason why Trump has changed his mind on all issues LeBron likely comes down to James being politically outspoken against him while also being one of the faces of the National Basketball Association.
