Omarosa releases secretly taped conversation with Trump

Omarosa Manigault-Newman then an aide to President Donald Trump watches during a meeting with parents and teachers in the Roosevelt Room of the White House in Washington. The White House is slamming a new book

She had "an office, an assistant and the highest salary afforded an administration staffer".

Those days, she announces with flourish in a new memoir, are over.

In the recording with Kelly, which Manigault Newman quotes extensively in her new book, "Unhinged", Kelly can be heard saying that he wants to talk with Manigault Newman about leaving the White House.

Manigault said that since this was her first conversation with Kelly, she'd like to ask some questions. She also makes the accusation that he is losing his mental faculties. Manigault Newman provides no proof of the alleged recording.

'Well we have Ja'Ron, whose done a fabulous job and he's been very involved with Jared Kushner and President Trump on prison reform, ' she said. She said she needed to leave for another interview. The campaign declined CNN's request for comment. On the Saturday anniversary of the riot, Trump tweeted, "I condemn all types of racism and acts of violence", which some have interpreted as more waffling, as reported by USA Today. "I could no longer be a part of this madness", she wrote.

No White House official offered an explanation for why Manigault Newman was hired in the first place if people had such concerns about her. She describes the tape in her book but has said she does not have it herself.

NBC showed the agreement on air, which included a strict non-disparagement agreement that would have prevented Manigault Newman from demeaning or disparaging Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, the campaign, their families and businesses. "Fake news!" He did not say that. She described it as a White House where "you have to have your own back because otherwise you'll look back and you'll see 17 knives in your back".

"Nobody even told me about it" Mr. Trump said.

Manigault Newman started her promotion tour Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press".

The White House had previously tried to discredit the book, with Sanders calling it "riddled with lies and false accusations".

At one point on the recording, she asks Kelly if President Donald Trump is aware of what's happening. She denied misusing it. "I had a blind spot when it came to Donald Trump". He has threatened to produce tapes in the past as a way to instill fear in enemies, such as fired FBI Director James Comey. The deterioration, she posits, is perhaps due to his copious intake of Diet Coke.

President Donald Trump appeared to be unaware that Omarosa Manigault Newman was sacked by White House chief of staff John Kelly, according to an audio recording of a phone conversation aired on NBC's "Today" Monday morning. GOP spokeswoman Ronna McDaniel and others also played up the national-security implications of her clandestine recording, though it's not like this administration has been diligent about security enforcement in the West Wing before.

The media "didn't give her credence when she worked here".

"Donald Trump was uncannily intuitive and extremely perceptive".

She explained: "It is hindsight. No one. So, I protected myself, and I'm so glad I did". "I just, I've never talked, had a chance to talk to you General Kelly so if this is my departure, I'd like to have at least an opportunity to understand".

"We have confidentiality agreements in the West Wing, absolutely we do".
