OnePlus 6T Revealed With 16MP+20MP Camera, Big Screen & Nightscape Mode

OnePlus 6T live images leak hours before announcement see the phone's front and back sides

It sports a small water-drop notch on top with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. This is surely good news for consumers as we're now looking at about five hours of screen on-time with some battery life still left.

OnePlus will hit its five-year operation anniversary in December, with the company usually launching new products in the spring and then revamping in the fall. This full-screen display is further complemented by an in-display fingerprint scanner which OnePlus is calling Screen Unlock. The new smartphone, however, will be launched in India tonight at a special function. The talk of the town, however, will be the large 6.41-inch OLED display that the OnePlus 6T is rocking (up from 6.28 inches on the OnePlus 6). There's no wireless charging despite the device coming with a glass back though.

Since the OnePlus 3 in 2016, the Shenzhen-based company has released an updated T version later in the year with mostly upgraded internals.

Another welcome addition is a 3700mAh battery, which is a 23% bump over the 3300mAh on the predecessor. This has been possible as OnePlus (against everyone's wishes) becomes the latest to ditch the headphone jack. The OnePlus 6 offers a promising battery life already, so it's fair to expect the 6T to last a day easily.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer company already confirmed earlier that their upcoming flagship will be without 3.5mm headphone jack.

The dual rear camera set-up is as follows - 16MP+20MP, f/1.7 aperture, OIS/EIS, 480fps slow-mo video, 4K@60fps and scene recognition is built in along with a Nightscape mode to allow for better night/low light photography without having to switch to Pro Mode. It lowers the ISO and the shutter speed aided by AI for stability.

The OnePlus 6T's Smart Boot feature that is said to improve app cold start speeds by 5 to 20 percent by caching frequently used apps - it now will only work with gaming apps, with additional compatibility planned for the future.

The hardware inside the phone remains the same as on the OnePlus 6.

And the processor is still the superfast Snapdragon 845 chipset, but the OS will be the latest Android 9 Pie.

After its launch on May 21, OnePlus 6 was available for sale at Amazon India as well as OnePlus online store, but now it is not available anywhere.

OnePlus 6T comes to India at Rs 37,999 onwards. It will be available in Mirror Black and Midnight Black colour options. While the phone has holes on both sides of the USB Type-C, they are only to maintain design symmetry and shouldn't be misunderstood for dual speakers.

The company also unveiled other popular accessories such as the OnePlus Bullets earphones, that comes as wired or wireless, and the OnePlus Explorer Backpack.
