Mac Miller Died From Overdose Involving Fentanyl, Coroner Finds

Article Image Update Mac Miller's Cause of Death Listed as Fentanyl & Cocaine Overdose

Rapper Mac Miller was killed by a deadly mix of drugs and alcohol, the Los Angeles medical examiner's office said on Monday.

The rapper died from "mixed drug toxicity" and specifically fentanyl and cocaine, TMZ reports.

Mac Miller's cause of death has been ruled as an overdose of cocaine and fentanyl.

Mac was found unresponsive around noon on September 7th in a bedroom of his San Fernando Valley home following which a male friend called 911 from Mac's home.

He was found at his home in San Fernando Valley earlier this year, and was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. His death was categorized as an accidental overdose, TMZ reported. Mac was described as being "blue", even during the call for help.

Miller had an abrasion on the bridge of his nose, and blood was coming out of one nostril, the report said.

Meanwhile, an empty bottle of alcohol was near his body on a nightstand, with a bottle of prescription pills in the bathroom. Miller, whose real name was Malcolm McCormick, was from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Miller's death came just months after he split from Ariana Grande and weeks after he was charged with a DUI.

It has been confirmed that the popular artist died from a drug overdose. The majority-or least 68 percent-of those deaths could be attributed to opioids such as fentanyl.
