Sarkar: Controversial scenes removed, recensored! ARM gets bail!

Diwali Dhamaka! Thalapathy Vijay's Sarkar BEATS Baahubali 2 with the highest Day 1 collection in Kerala

"Top star, give a frank response".

AIADMK has alleged that scenes in the movie criticise previous Tamil Nadu Government of J Jayalalithaa. "I strongly condemn these", he added.

Makers of the Vijay-starrer Sarkar, on Friday, were forced into editing out "controversial" scenes in the film, thereby bringing the escalating tensions over the film to a halt. He took to Twitter and wrote in Tamil: "To protest for the removal of certain scenes from the movie and stop it from being screened after the Censor Board has certified it is against the law". Ever since its release, many AIADMK ministers and party cadres expressed their displeasure over certain scenes in the film. "If you find a lizard inside a packed food product that has all certifications, will you throw it away or consume it saying it has the required certifications", it said.

There is a scene in the film that shows burning of freebies, like mixies, grinders and fans, which were distributed by political party.

The album of Sarkar is composed by Music Maestro and Academy Award victor AR Rahman.

The AIADMK ministers demanded deletion of the contentious scenes, besides threatening to initiate legal action if the film crew failed to comply.

The mouthpiece also slammed the filmmaker for naming a negative character as Komalavalli, apparently referring to Jayalalithaa. Affluent people may look down upon the freebie system but Amma canteens serve thousands of aspiring filmmakers.

"Aren't the (free) mixers and grinders godsent for the have-nots?" the AIADMK mouthpiece asked. Taking a swipe at actor Vijay's reported political ambitions, it said he was "dreaming that he can become the Chief Minister just by mouthing emotional dialogues against the government".
