Apple Canada announces iPhone X display replacement program

Apple said to begin selling iPhone XR, new iPad Pro, and more on Amazon

These changes are expected to help Apple and Amazon have more control over the pricing and inventory of Apple products.

Amazon is signing a deal with Apple to expand its collection of Cupertino's hardware.

The other service program is specific to 13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar) laptops equipped with 128GB and 256GB solid-state drives (SSDs) sold between June 2017 and June 2018.

Amazon and Apple have clashed in the past. The deal marks the first time that Apple's newest products have been available for direct sale through Amazon.

'We look forward to expanding our assortment of Apple and Beats products globally'. They can continue to sell Apple products after becoming Apple authorized resellers.

In 2016, Apple filed a lawsuit against Amazon alleging that the online retailer was selling counterfeit Apple products on its web store.

CNET, which confirmed these plans with Amazon, explains that once this partnership of sorts goes into effect, authorized resellers will be the only ones allowed to offer Apple's products through Amazon.

The company said it only affects the original iPhone X, which has been superseded by the iPhone XS and XR released this autumn. As part of that program, people who fix phones have to have a commercial space where customers can walk-in, and they can only use official Apple parts. The company also doesn't sell Google's Home devices.

Prior to the agreement, just a limited selection of Apple devices were available directly through Amazon. Though Amazon fancies itself a tablet maker, the Fire line doesn't really compete with Apple's own line of tablets, as the former are usually positioned as a budget item rather than a premium, high-end device like the iPad.

The lineup will include the Apple Watch but not the Apple HomePod, a high-end alternative to Amazon's voice-controlled Echo device.
