Samsung to bring back three-year-old display tech with 'Galaxy S10'

Renders of the Galaxy A8s

The other tidbit is that the Galaxy S10 could have reverse wireless charging like the Mate 20 Pro. Samsung Galaxy A9 was first launched at an event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last month.

As usual, it has become increasingly hard for Samsung to stem the tide of leaks for their upcoming handsets, and the latest involves the Samsung Galaxy S10.

Today, a new report comes from The Wall Street Journal out of Seoul, claiming that Samsung is working on a “top-secret” device with 6 cameras: two in the front and four on the rear with the promise of “richer photos and better special perception”. Samsung's market share ranked 11th not only way behind its big Chinese rivals Huawei, OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi, but also small companies like China Mobile and Sugar. The company is already expected to launch a foldable phone next year, and details of the next Galaxy flagship, the Galaxy S10, have now been revealed by The Wall Street Journal.

But even with as many as four Galaxy S10 devices in the works, the most exciting thing about smartphones in 2019 might still be Samsung's upcoming bendable phone. That larger device has a 6.2-inch display, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has a 6.4-inch display.

We're rapidly approaching 2019, and that means it will soon be time for Samsung's yearly Galaxy S flagship launch.

The report also says that Samsung is planning a mid-February press conference where it could launch at least "the feature-heavy" 5G Galaxy S10. Two of the Galaxy S10 variants is also said to debut with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Are you waiting for the Galaxy S10? And there'll be notches - just not the sort you've seen before. Despite the fact that the Korean giant is one of the largest global smartphone brands, the Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ Plus, and Galaxy Note 9 sales are poor.

Samsung is struggling in the Chinese smartphone market, selling only 700,000 smartphones in the world's most populous country in the third quarter of this year, according to US market researcher Strategy Analytics on Monday.
