Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury declared a draw

After 12 pulsating rounds, the judges scored the matchup 115-111 to Wilder, another 114-112 to Englishman Fury, and the third British judge scoring 113-113. After overcoming his personal demons, Fury returned to the ring earlier this year following a near three-year layoff and has claimed victory in two fights as he gets set to challenge for a heavyweight title once again.

"One hundred percent we'll do the rematch", Fury said. "Me and this man are the two best heavyweights on the planet".

Classy combinations drew cheers from his supporters as Wilder failed to rise to the occasion, often missing the target horribly as he tried to land a big punch.

Clearly seeing the fight as just another hurdle to negotiate in his bid to face Anthony Joshua to become undisputed champion, Wilder added: "It's definitely the most important [fight of his career], but not the most hard".

In the seventh Wilder seemed to sense his tactics were paying dividends, as the 30-year-old Fury's footwork began to slow, and with every step, Wilder would gain estate.

Still, the knockdown scuppered his hopes of becoming a two-time world champion, with the controversial outcome seeing both retain their unbeaten record while also paving the way for a lucrative rematch in 2019.

Wilder responded with increasingly desperate flurries of big punches, very few of which found their mark.

'I am a fighting man, I was never going to be knocked out tonight.

However in the ninth round, Wilder finally made his mark, dropping Fury with a short hook that had the fans on their feet.

A right hand sent Fury rocking backwards towards the deck and a brutal left hand on the way down appeared to be the coup de grace for the challenger.
