TWEETING TARANTINO – EARLY INDUSTRY REACTIONS TO DJANGO UNCHAINED

Major reviews of Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained (2012) will not be released until December 12th but the first screenings of Tarantino’s upcoming “southern Western” took place the first weekend of December.

The film is set two years prior to the US Civil War and stars Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave who will gain his freedom if he joins a bounty hunter, Schultz (Christoph Waltz), to track down an outlaw gang. Once that task is successful, Schultz will give Django his freedom and assist him in recovering his wife from Calvin Candie, a plantation owner played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

  1. Personally, I loved it! Sure it had a few issues, but it was enjoyable from start to finish, with a few unexpected twists along the way.

  2. Thanks for taking the time to make a comment. Actually, I just viewed it today (Jan.5th) in Denver, Colorado and enjoyed it. It seemed to strike the right balance between seriousness and some levity when needed. In many ways it is a love story and the Jamie Foxx-Django character had some excellent lines, particularly when he first arrives at the plantation where his wife is held.
