WESTERN ART SHOW RETURNS TO DENVER

The annual Coors Western Art Show is set to return to Denver, Colorado. Located at the National Western Stock Show Complex, the public art exhibition and sale will run from January 11th to 26th in conjunction with annual stock show. The National Western Stock Show itself has been held since 1906.

The exhibition features paintings, sculpture and photography within both the traditional and contemporary genres of Western art. The public show will be preceded by two important discussions about Western art on January 7th and 8th. On the 7th, the History of Colorado Center will host a panel discussion entitled “What is Western Art?” That discussion will be moderated by the editor and publisher of True West magazine, Bob Boze Bell, who is an artist himself.

Following a red carpet reception at the National Western Complex Expo Hall on the evening of the 7th, the following day will see the Denver Art Museum lead a symposium entitled “Journeys West”. This talk will discuss how artists who travelled to the American West were influenced both by the West itself and their journey to it.

The above two art discussions are part of the Coors Western Art Show’s “WinterWest” events held in the lead-up to the exhibition and sale. Further information about exhibition and events can be found at this official link: Coors Western Art Show.

Finally, westernsreboot.com wishes everyone a happy and safe start to 2014! (Yes, the site has launched a new design with the new year as well!)
