Jesse James might have liked this deal when riding trains across Missouri avoiding the law – Amtrak is expanding its ten-ride ticket on the Missouri River Runner from 60 to 180 days. A holder of this multi-ride ticket can now take up to 10 trips on that Amtrak passenger train within six months.
The Missouri River Runner runs daily between St. Louis, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas, over a distance of 280 miles with 8 stops. The train completes its route in 5 hours and 40 minutes.
The train’s name was the result of a 2008 “Name the Train” contest held by the Missouri Department of Transportation. That state department provides the majority of funding for the River Runner, which in 2013 averaged almost 550 passengers daily. Official Amtrak information about the train & tickets can be found at Missouri River Runner.
