Spring 2017 registration is now opening for three online community college courses designed and taught by this writer; Westerns: A Study in the Film Genre, The Video Game West, and Westerns: Film as a Lens to the Present. The first two are offered via Sault College (Sault Ste. Marie, ON/MI) and the third thru St. Clair College (Windsor-Detroit region).

Westerns: A Study in the Film Genre is a film-focused analysis of Westerns now in its eighth year. Students complete two Film Reviews from a selection of movies that include such recent Westerns as The Revenant (2015) and The Hateful Eight (2015) – new films are continually added. The Video Game West, launched in 2015, guides students thru an interactive exploration of Western video games. Assignments include weekly participation questions and a project in which students create their own story-line for a Western game. Each online class is open to CDN, US and international students outside those two countries.
