RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 DELAYED UNTIL SPRING 2018

The game-maker’s official statement as to the change, delivered May 22nd, included the following text: “Red Dead Redemption 2….will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans. We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer.”

In addition to the media release, Rockstar also provided six new screenshots from the game, two of which are displayed here:

Rockstar’s previous Western game, the award-winning Red Dead Redemption (2010), saw players set out across a fading Old West as John Marston, a reformed outlaw forced by the US federal government to track down his former gang. There has been much speculation that the follow-up to the 2010 game will be a prequel, in which the earlier story of John Marston is explored. Here is the one teaser trailer thus far for Red Dead Redemption 2 (with the previous release date):

The complete May 22nd media release from Rockstar Games – and all six new screenshots – can be seen at RDR2 2018The game’s official website can be found at RDR2.
